One of this week's Popjustice Songs Of The Day was supremely ropey so to make up for it today's is a total corker — a brand new duet between Little Boots and The Human League's Phil Oakey.
Sometimes tracks make you wonder why people like 'Duffy' or 'The Eagles Of Death Metal' bother getting out of bed in the morning and here's one of them: the lyrics are all "you're the night to my day and the left to my right, the
blood to my veins and the dark to my light, the start to my stop and
the constant beat to my heart", so this is a proper duet (ie a song written for two people, not just sung by two people). It also has a massive chorus, an even bigger bit straight after the chorus, an incredible spooky spoken word middle eight and a mysterious pulstating finale.
Here's a short clip of the second verse.
Amazingly the clip Boots has allowed us to play you today cuts off just before the chorus, in which Victoria and Phil sing "love me in perfect symmetry, be my everything, if you just love me in perfect symmetry, only you can make me feel complete". This is basically an amazing song which makes a brilliant addition to what was already shaping up to be an excellent album.
